Fooood

Whoo! We recently purchased the Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder and boy was it a hit! Mannix ate half a banana the first time he used it. I'll say so far this is the best $4.00 I've spent on him haha. He also tried grapes yesterday and he LOVED them, he just sucked all the juice out :o) We used it again today and he ate a whole banana for dinner. The only complaint I have is that the banana gets stuck in the netting which I find hard to clean. I've read that people use a bottle cleaner to get the residue out but it didn't work for me. It easily took me 10 plus minutes to clean all of the banana out.

Mannix had his first dental visit on Wednesday and it went super! I couldn't have asked for a better baby. He didn't cry or whine he LOVED when the Hygienist brushed his little teeth. He even got to keep his very first toothbrush and would not let it go. He fell asleep clenching it in his little hand :)

I've been trying to get back into crafting since its been over a year. My sister Angela and I agreed to trade handmade Christmas gifts this year for our boys. It has been so fun to make little monsters out of felt for them! I really missed being creative. I have to thank her for making me really interested in amigurumi :) I want to learn how to crochet now.

Time

[november 8]

I really wish time would just stop for a while. These past months have flown by! This has to be the fastest half year I've ever had. Mannix is already 6 months old and I can not believe it. Obviously I always say that I'm going to keep up with my blog and post all the time..I have come to the conclusion that I probably wont keep up with it as much as I want. Why? Because I really don't ever know what to type! haha I'm sure all of you already know that :o)

I have fallen in love with Mannix and I don't ever want to let him go. He is my world! I can't imagine life without my precious baby boy. Today he hit another milestone, sitting up completely on his own for more than 5 minutes! So yeah, I'll say its official. I'm obsessed with my little Doodoo and every little thing he does. Always there with my camera in hand ready to take a picture of every move he makes! Right now as I type I can hear Isidro praising him for learning how to switch the lights on and off while he holds him up to it :) "alright dude!" From the corner of my eye I see it flick on and off on and off. haha Guess what else? Mannix got his second tooth October 26th and its catching up to his first already! I don't know if his third tooth will cut tomorrow morning because he has been chewing on everything today, who knows maybe his two teeth are itching him right now.

Mannix had experienced his first Halloween this year! Let me tell you..we spend quite a bit of money on his first costume and he wore it for maybe 30 minutes total. We live in South Texas and the inside of that costume is lined with some idk? shiny fabric that seemed pretty warm and yes, it was. Mannix was hot and sweating..he just wanted to get that thing off :( I managed to get 3 or so good pictures of him but yeah, thats how the first costume went haha. We spent the evening with Isidro's family they had pizza and wings, we watched movies and handed out candies to kids. It was the perfect way to spend the night :) I'm sure next year will be a little more exciting since he will be a year and a half and he can actually get to go trick or treating.

I have been thinking alot about this coming Christmas and am not 100% sure what we will be doing. I know that my instinct as a first time mother is to splurge on toys for Mannix. But lets face it, babies don't NEED a bunch of toys. I think this year I will buy him Peek-a-Blocks, a Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder, Spoons, a Mozart Cube and MAYBE some baby legs that's if I don't make them on my own. I'm sure that he will get plenty of gifts from family members since this is his first Christmas. I just don't want to go overboard and spend money that we could use on something more beneficial. Angela, I can't wait to see that amigurumi!! :D

Toothy

[october 9]

Mannix got his first tooth today! He has been fussy for the past two days and I couldn't point out what it was..well now I know! This morning I woke up to him talking and touching my face and for some reason I decided to put my finger in his mouth and feel his gum and to my surprise felt a tiny tooth :D I've had a feeling that he has been teething since 3 months of age because he was constantly drooling and chewing on everything. I wasn't sure because I have read that drool and chewing doesn't always mean teeth.

So wow, things are really flying by! He recently started being able to hold both of his feet in the air with his hands and sometimes comes really close to putting his foot in his mouth :P I've been trying to encourage sitting up and he is doing very well sometimes he leans forward and I help him back up. I don't ever walk away I sit on the floor with him.

and Im still deeply in love with gDiapers! They are fantastic, it has come down to only using Pampers when he is sleeping and ONCE in a while when we go out.

Growing Baby

[september 23]

Everything is definitely changing around here. Mannix is no longer a newborn, he is an infant! He is starting to do things on his own..like grab his pacifier and put it in his mouth, he started grabbing his feet on the 11th and one of the biggest accomplishments so far is he started rolling over! This past Sunday (the 20th) Mannix was trying and trying to roll over but couldn't I have been practicing the movements with him for weeks now and so I showed him how to roll over and laid him on his back again and bam! he did it! :D And you know what? I caught it on video!
Im soo loving this stage of life for him its so amazing to see him grow and grow everyday!

We recently started Mannix on stage 1 baby food..now I know that some people are going to hassle me about it but the Pediatrician. said I could start him and honestly, I think he was ready for it. I hate feeling bad every time I eat he is just staring at me with his mouth open! How could you tell me that he isn't ready? Everybody has their own opinion on what is right for their child, and I know I'm doing the right thing.

Im loving the gDiapers as well! Cloth diapering is so fun and cute, I wish everyone did it. It is complicated and a hassle since our apartment doesn't have washer/dryer connections. We have to go to Isidro's parents house to wash all the time..not that its a bad thing! lol Its just that it would be easier if we had our own you know? So far we have only had 2 accidents and that was because I didn't fit the diaper right on the legs.

Halloween is coming up next month! Whoo I can't wait to see which costume I decide on for Mannix! :)

Baby Fluff

Mannix has started getting alot better at eating his rice cereal! It is so nutty that he is starting to eat some solids, they sure do grow up fast. It's so cute because he gets all antsy and starts throwing his arms up and screams when he sees the spoon coming towards him :) he gets really excited! As soon as I sit him in his little chair and I put his little bib on his mouth automatically starts to open.

Mannix has also been sleeping less and less during the day..I'm talking about three 30 minute naps only! I'm guessing (and hoping) that he will sleep through the night. His sleep habits have been off these past few weeks. But maybe he is making his own little schedule, I mean its not bad. Right now he wakes up at around 4 or 6 am to eat and goes back to sleep till around 8 and stays up till 10 or so and sleeps again till around 11 am. The rest of the day consists of power naps :)

Four Months!

[september 2]

My little baby turned four months yesterday. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I know I say this every time I blog but it just amazes me every time I sign on and start typing. He has grown so much and is such a lovely baby. He is currently 25 inches long and 15.7 lbs! Big big boy♥

Today, Mannix ate rice cereal for the first time :) It was an experience that I will never forget..feeding my little baby his first food. Guess what else? He liked it! Sure it took a couple of tries..but it was a learning thing for both of us. I think I made it too watery I read the directions 1 tbsp of cereal and 4 tbsp of breast milk..actually I used 3 and added a little more cereal and it was still very runny. Oh well, we will try again! Mannix took down at least 3-4 spoon fulls of cereal :)

We also started using this product called Swimava and it is the cutest thing ever! It is supposed to help aid in swimming and help develop motor skills. Mannix loves it soo much, he just floats back and forth in the bathtub. He was in there for at least 20 minutes his first time and didn't even cry or fuss.

I also finally ordered my gDiapers! I can't wait to finally give cloth diapers a try. I really hope they are worth it and are not so terrible to deal with. I would really like to keep Mannix in fluff for as long as I can. I have been reading alot and hope that I'm as prepared as I can be. I mean, this is really a big thing (for me) I know its not going to be as easy as it seems. But with hard work and dedication I know I can do it :) Plus lets be honest its a big investment!
