Five Months!

Everything is definitely changing around here. Mannix is no longer a newborn, he is an infant! He is starting to do things on his own..like grab his pacifier and put it in his mouth, he started grabbing his feet on the 11th and one of the biggest accomplishments so far is he started rolling over! This past Sunday (the 20th) Mannix was trying and trying to roll over but couldn't I have been practicing the movements with him for weeks now and so I showed him how to roll over and laid him on his back again and bam! he did it! :D And you know what? I caught it on video!

Im soo loving this stage of life for him its so amazing to see him grow and grow everyday!

We recently started Mannix on stage 1 baby food..now I know that some people are going to hassle me about it but the Pediatrician. said I could start him and honestly, I think he was ready for it. I hate feeling bad every time I eat he is just staring at me with his mouth open! How could you tell me that he isn't ready? Everybody has their own opinion on what is right for their child, and I know I'm doing the right thing.

Im loving the gDiapers as well! Cloth diapering is so fun and cute, I wish everyone did it. It is complicated and a hassle since our apartment doesn't have washer/dryer connections. We have to go to Isidro's parents house to wash all the time..not that its a bad thing! lol Its just that it would be easier if we had our own you know? So far we have only had 2 accidents and that was because I didn't fit the diaper right on the legs.

Halloween is coming up next month! Whoo I can't wait to see which costume I decide on for Mannix! :)

Whoo I finally got my first order of gDiapers in today! I need to say that so far, I'm very pleased. My mother and I made a test insert and Mannix was in the diaper for 4 hours and didn't even leak! I ordered some prefolds and am waiting for them to come in so I can try it out with those since I calculated that prefolds were the right way to go (cost-wise) I ordered some Green Mountain Prefolds after hearing good reviews about them. I will definitely keep the blog updated on the cloth diaper extravaganza! I'm really excited to start a new journey.

Mannix has started getting alot better at eating his rice cereal! It is so nutty that he is starting to eat some solids, they sure do grow up fast. It's so cute because he gets all antsy and starts throwing his arms up and screams when he sees the spoon coming towards him :) he gets really excited! As soon as I sit him in his little chair and I put his little bib on his mouth automatically starts to open.

Mannix has also been sleeping less and less during the day..I'm talking about three 30 minute naps only! I'm guessing (and hoping) that he will sleep through the night. His sleep habits have been off these past few weeks. But maybe he is making his own little schedule, I mean its not bad. Right now he wakes up at around 4 or 6 am to eat and goes back to sleep till around 8 and stays up till 10 or so and sleeps again till around 11 am. The rest of the day consists of power naps :)

Four Months!

My little baby turned four months yesterday. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I know I say this every time I blog but it just amazes me every time I sign on and start typing. He has grown so much and is such a lovely baby. He is currently 25 inches long and 15.7 lbs! Big big boy♥

Today, Mannix ate rice cereal for the first time :) It was an experience that I will never forget..feeding my little baby his first food. Guess what else? He liked it! Sure it took a couple of tries..but it was a learning thing for both of us. I think I made it too watery I read the directions 1 tbsp of cereal and 4 tbsp of breast milk..actually I used 3 and added a little more cereal and it was still very runny. Oh well, we will try again! Mannix took down at least 3-4 spoon fulls of cereal :)

We also started using this product called Swimava and it is the cutest thing ever! It is supposed to help aid in swimming and help develop motor skills. Mannix loves it soo much, he just floats back and forth in the bathtub. He was in there for at least 20 minutes his first time and didn't even cry or fuss.

I also finally ordered my gDiapers! I can't wait to finally give cloth diapers a try. I really hope they are worth it and are not so terrible to deal with. I would really like to keep Mannix in fluff for as long as I can. I have been reading alot and hope that I'm as prepared as I can be. I mean, this is really a big thing (for me) I know its not going to be as easy as it seems. But with hard work and dedication I know I can do it :) Plus lets be honest its a big investment!

Whoa Baby! Okay it's officially been over 1 month since my last post even though I promised that I would keep up with it. I have been major busy with little Mannix. I have continued to take pictures of him (obviously).

Mannix has officially outgrown his bassinet and has been sleeping in his crib since August 11th. He is also now weighing over 15 lbs! I can't believe that my 3 month old weighs that much [lol]. He is starting to babble soo much and officially had his first laugh on the 12th of this month! :D Mannix and daddy were playing kissy..I was swinging him side to side and he would kiss Isidro. I could feel his belly moving like he wanted to laugh..and he just let it out! Today he rolled from his tummy to his back like 1 million times! I recorded it with my camera *whoo*

He has also been wanting to sit up on his own, but of course he is not strong enough yet. Mannix is also getting used to going out places and doesn't even cry when we are out! THANK GOD! He has only done that once..and that was after his 2 month shots. I'm enjoying him so much and I'm so grateful to be a stay at home mommy :D I won't miss anything! I don't have to worry about day cares mistreating him or not seeing his first milestones.

I have been researching cloth diapering for a few weeks now and have decided to give it a try. I wasn't aware that disposable diapers can take 500 years to decompose! I started thinking about how many diapers we use a day (around 8) that's 56 diapers a week..224 a month! and approx. 11,648 a year! multiply that by all the other people who use diapers every single day! Anyways..I have decided to use these "gDiapers" they seem pretty awesome. You can use these liners that are biodegradable..you can flush them down the toilet, compost them or just toss them away in the trash. They claim to break down between 50-150 days. I need to add that they are super cute..and would love to see them on Mannix's little bum :)

I also want to try to make my own baby food when Mannix is 6 months old :D There is this thing called Beaba and it helps you make your own baby food! I'm not sure if I will purchase it since its almost $140. We will see when the time comes..which is pretty soon! lol

Hello! I don't know what to update on this week other than..Mannix is growing up sooo fast! I love him soo much! He is always happy and always smiles :)

We took our first family trip to Corpus this Saturday and I was so nervous about Mannix crying and me having to breastfeed out of home! It went perfect, he didn't cry or fuss. I breastfed him in the car..not knowing that BABIES R'US had an awesome nursing room! lol I know for next time. Our first family outing went great and now I can't wait to keep taking him out on little trips. Hopefully we can go to back this weekend!

oops! I have been lazy and haven't posted since June 28!

Mannix went to his very first birthday party on July 1 and he had such a blast! He stayed awake the whole time and was cooing and smiling at everyone..especially Renee! Mannix and Renee can have some very deep conversations lol she talks to him and he talks back :)

Little boy also had his 2 month check up on the first and he weighs 12.11 lbs already! Whoo boy! He also got his shots and cried for a little while but got over it soon. My poor baby ended up getting a fever later on that night but I gave him Tylenol and it went away. The doctor also did something very very horrific and ugh I'll just type it..he pulled back his foreskin! I didn't even know what to do or say! He told me that I need to pull it back at every bath and to wash it. I don't think so! I won't be doing that..and Im going to make sure that I take an article from the AAP when I go back to his four month check up. I'm sure he will respect my wishes to no longer touch my sons genitals. Don't get me wrong he is a VERY good doctor, he just didn't know. I read that some doctors don't know not to do that. When I told him I decided not to circ. Mannix after all he said "good" so I'm sure he is supportive no matter what he can/can't do.

So now on to the photos of last week. I won't be posting pictures of this week since I do plan on posting this Sunday as usual. :)
