Happy Easter!

Hello! And Happy Easter :)

I hope everyone had a great and happy easter! I really wish Mannix was here to enjoy it with us.
Next Easter he will be 11 months and hopefully will be able to enjoy Easter. I can't wait to make him a little basket and help him hunt for eggs.

Baby Update!
I went to see the Doctor on Thursday and he said that Mannix is growing right on target! His weight is great and he should be a normal healthy baby by the time I deliver they also said that he is weighing a little over 5 lbs right now! Eee! Im excited :)

AND
Final good news! I am going to be induced at 38.5 weeks! That means...I have 3.5 weeks till I finally get to meet my little angel! I can't even explain to you how excited I am! Ahhh.
Mannix will soon be here and our family will be complete.

Nervousness

I'm super nervous about tomorrow, why? Because I'm going to take my 3 hour Glucose Tolerance Test. My one hour test was a little elevated and hopefully everything comes back within normal limits. I just don't want to poke my finger 4 times a day and even worse possibly have to give myself insulin injections! Another bad thing about Gestational Diabetes is that it pretty much gives you a 75% of having a c-section, and I really really don't want to have a c-section with my first baby.

Other than that, I have been okay. The baby seems to be more active and is kicking harder and harder everyday :) I am 6 months today and have now gained 10 lbs all together so far. And it is finally decided that we will be naming our baby boy Mannix, we aren't sure if he will have a middle name or not.

We have also started thinking about ideas for the baby shower which will be on March 28, 2009. Yippee! I will be just about 8 months and a week by then! Oh my I'm probably going to be massive! haha

Whirlwind.

Hello
I have plenty of updating today. First off I have to say that I officially can feel the baby move. Second not only can I feel him move, but I actually saw him kick 2 times on January 7th when I was watching The NeverEnding Story with Isidro. I of course, got all teary eyed and emotional, but it was such a beautiful experience!

Now for some more news, I do have to clarify the fact that we ARE having a BOY, only because he was predicted a girl around 18 weeks and then at week 20 we found out it was indeed..a boy :) I had another scan this Thursday and I saw his penis myself. lol not only that they showed it to me "in real time" and I finally have a legit picture to prove it too. So yes, I'm excited to say it IS A BOY. So now for names right? Isidro and I have come up with 3 names so far and are unable to decide on which one to use

• Mannix
• Brayden
• Brody

I happen to love the name Mannix since its different, but I think Isidro is leaning more towards Brayden..and at the same time we both like Brody so..I don't know yet, we have a while till the baby is born anyways :P

Oh and I just got out of the hospital today which is why Im barely posting about the baby moving. I had a cough, then I had a fever, then I couldn't breath! So that equals to a Luxurious 3 night stay at the wonderful Christus Spohn Hospital! Ill tell you I was sooooooo miserable, I cried all day yesterday because I wanted to come home. I had so many problems with my ivy, it kept ringing and ringing and ringing every 10 minutes. I kept buzzing and buzzing the nurses to come in and fix it and they would but as soon as they would step out BEEP BEEP BEEP..I swear that machine wanted to make me go insane! They even changed the machine 4 times and moved my ivy to my other hand and it still beeped! Oh well Im home and that's all that matters.

And finally! I got the stroller, carseat, high chair, swing and diaper bag picked out! My sisters and mother will be buying them for me for the baby shower. And not to mention Isidro's mother is going to be buying us our crib! :) We planned on buying everything on our own since we are so picky on what we want for the baby but they offered and I mean who's going to say no to that?

Its a boy!

Oh my..I have been super busy with work and everything I haven't posted in so long. Well we found out today that we will be having a boy! We were supposed to be having a girl but I guess not? lol I haven't really much to talk about everything has pretty much been on cruise control for a while now. My Quad Screen results showed Negative x3! So no open neural tube defects or anything detected :) Iam one happy MOMMA!

As for fetal movement I haven't really felt anything and Iam now 5 months and 1 day! I mean I feel little movements here and there but Im not sure if its gas or not lol. I haven't really picked out names either I guess because I wanted to be SURE of what we were having before I really started name hunting.

And the best part of pregnancy has to be THE WEIGHT...blah I have gained 6 lbs so far..I know that doesn't sound like much but my tummy is getting HUGE and I don't know where it's coming from either? Oh well at least its not 15-20 lbs :)

p.s. As I was typing this blog I felt a whole bunch of fluttering in my belly..is it the baby? ohh I wish I could tell for sure!

Hello! I has been a very long time since I have updated my blog and I'm happy to say that everything is going great :)

I went to the hospital this past Monday due to dehydration but I just needed some iv fluids overnight and I was good to go. I did however, loose 4 lbs this weekend that's all the weight I have gained so far so now I'm back to my original weight. My nausea still hasn't gone away and I'm now starting to experience headaches like crazy. I also have been vomiting, I am still hanging in there and enjoying it though.

The baby is doing super and has grown so much these past few weeks! I'm so excited every time I have an appointment because I get to see the baby. I haven't had pictures because the machine isn't working right now but I did snap a shot with my phone :) I'm so amazed at how everything seems to be going by so fast and how well the baby is even though I'm sick all the time.

I am so in love with the baby its unbelievable!

Today I had my follow up appointment and guess what?! NO BACTERIA yessss! Now I'm doing well and you know what I haven't burped up that ulgy taste in about 3 days *knock on wood* I think I figured out the problem..my prenatal vitamins I took it and about 5 minutes later I burped up and it finally clicked, its the vitamins!

So I have been going to work this past week and am doing quite well I mean I still get nauseous but its not as bad as it was before.


Well anyways, back to the appointment the ultrasound machine wasn't working very well today it actually kept messing up so the doctor wasn't able to do any measurements or print pictures but thank God I had my camera phone with me so I snapped two pictures and a video of the baby's heartbeat♥

I will be going back in a month for my next visit unless I have any problems and lets hope I don't! It's just sad to think I have to wait a whole month again to see the baby! =[

Update

Hello all! I haven't been on to update in awhile so here are the events that have occurred

• I have been given "time off" of work till I feel better
• I re-did my blood cultures to see if any changes
• I haven't had an ultrasound in a week and a half
  
• I haven't been feeling so nauseous as before yippee!

I will be having a follow up appointment on Wednesday to see if my blood still has bacteria (hopefully everything is alright). I will be 10 weeks and 3 days by the time I have my next appointment and ultrasound! Isidro will be going with me for the first time to a doctors visit =]


Since I have time off of work I've been snooping online and looking at cribs and baby stuff that I would like so here are a few things that I finally have settled on 1 the crib and 2 the changing station we're not quite sure on the bedding yet but I like the one on the very last pic its kind of cute for a boy I need to do a little more shopping before I actually buy something.

P.S.
*I also just wanted to throw this in as a random note: My older sister Angela used to eat Tomatoes and Cream Cheese when she stayed with us and for some odd reason or another I have been craving it like a maniac since 2 days ago I have eaten 4 sandwiches =]

3D

Oh boy! Today Dr. Barnes was getting trained on how to do 3D ultrasounds on our new machine and he asked me if I would like to see the baby! I said, "YES PLEASE!" I cried when I saw the baby its so tiny and cute! You can see the little arm buds and leg buds forming :) and I just love hearing the baby's heartbeat♥ Isn't it amazing to have a baby? I'm excited even though I'm sick all day everyday *lol*

Reflux

Today I saw the GI Doctor..for about five minutes! *lol* I swear that man was in and out like nobody's business. He basically said that I'm just having Reflux and that it's worse due to the pregnancy (maybe I had it before?) now I have more medicine to take. He also said that he isn't too worried about me having a pouch of food stuck because I'm not vomiting undigested food. So basically that's all, drove two hours for a five minute visit and I mean at least I know its nothing to worry about.

So after that we decided to make a day out of it (might as well) so we went shopping for our home :) I should be following up with Dr. Barnes soon this week..I'll keep you updated!

Hospital

Okay, I have had the longest weekend EVER. I was admitted to the hospital for the first time in my life. On Friday morning I woke up feeling sick so I called in to work..then I get a phone call around 12 pm from the office saying I need to go to the hospital. So I went not knowing what was going on.

Well the doctor came and told me that I had bacteria in my blood that could harm the baby! So I was going to have to be in the hospital from Friday till Sunday (today) I was so nervous and scared for the baby but everything seems to be alright still :)

Let me tell you the terrible part..I HATE NEEDLES and sure enough they had trouble getting my IV started it took them three tries! My nurse missed the first time so then they called "the best guy" who missed on the first try and said "WOW, I have not missed in 10 years!" he then finally got it on my right hand. And guess what I got my blood drawn two times and they didn't miss! YIPEEE!

So the doctor came today and I told him that I hadn't been burping up anything or feeling too sick and he said that I could come home I was so happy. I need to say this though my nurses were the best and were so nice to me :) I made sure to tell them thanks when I left.

Tomorrow I will be driving up to San Antonio to go see the GI doctor and hopefully the meds have cleared it up. I'll post tomorrow with the result.

Sigh

Today I went in for my follow up only to get bad news. My test came out positive for bacteria that causes ulcers :( Now for sure I have to go see a specialist that is willing to see a pregnant woman. On top of that..they're unsure if I should be working full time now and should only go into work when I feel good. Yeah, that might sound like its a good thing but its not when your trying to save up for a baby.

Eeesh right now I'm not in the greatest of moods but I have to take it as it comes and hope that everything will work itself out. At least the baby is doing well, I had another ultrasound done and the baby is growing well and guess what? Baby's heartbeat was at 154 today! I got a couple of pictures for you. If you look close you can see that it says "yolk sac" and "baby" :)

Well I'm going to go now and try to eat some food.

Blood Anyone?

Okay so last night was horrific, I kept waking up with terrible stomach cramping on and off all night. This morning I woke up feeling like a zombie and was super nauseous, so I finally called in sick for the first time and they told me to go ahead and come in for an appointment (I hate sounding like a baby crier). So I came in and I took my mom with me and they said that it could be that it's getting worse so Dr. Barnes had me go in for an ultrasound to make sure the baby was okay first. The baby has grown so much in just 4 days, and guess what? The heart rate went up to 130 today. My mother joked around about how the baby looked like Patrick Star from Spongebob Squarepants *lol* Now the measurements say baby is 7 weeks and 4 days! We should get an accurate measurement in 2 more weeks.

Now to the serious part..

Vampires came out..it was time to draw my blood again :( So okay I had 2 tubes of blood and he also wanted me to have a blood culture and boy its weird..its like glass jars of some kind and they have to draw out 2 bottles and repeat it in 30 minutes. Well, as we all know I'm a super hard stick so they had trouble finding my veins in total I got stuck 5 times today..and not only that I had to get a shot on my bum!! I'm telling you today was not good.

But I get to be off of work today and tomorrow..I surely hope that everything is fine Thursday when I return back to the office.

Buuurp

Okay so I have been burping up the most ugliest tasting thing [EVER] it tastes like rotten seafood. I've been having this for the past uhm 2 weeks? But yesterday was the worst, I had it all day..including the "D" word. I was so sick yesterday it was not fun at all. Today when I went into work I told my doctor that I had been burping up that ugly taste and he said that he needed to see me right away. So I went into the room and he said that it COULD be that I have a pouch of food stuck that is rotting and that's what the taste is coming from. I told him the rest of my symptoms and he said it didn't sound right. I just figured I was getting sick from the pregnancy. He made a phone call to a Gastroneurologist who said that it could get worse as my pregnancy continues (oh no!) He perscribed me a couple of medications that I have to take an hour before meals to see if it helps. If not I might need to get an Upper GI Endoscopy done :( I'm hoping and praying that everything will work itself out with medications. I would really hate to have such complications with my first pregnancy, I've never had to do anything like this before.

*sigh* I'm going to shower and go to sleep...I'm trying to not stress out about it so much.

First Appointment

eee! I'm excited! Today was my first visit and let me tell you its HARD to fast, I wanted water so bad. The visit went very well :) I finally got to hear the baby's heartbeat♥ it was truly amazing. I'm surprised I didn't cry (I'm such a baby) I also found out that I'm about 6 weeks and 5 days and my EDD is May 17, 2009..which is our 3 year anniversary! I will be going back next Friday for my lab results lets *cross our fingers* and hope everything comes out normal. Could you believe I've gained 2 lbs in a week? I need to watch what I'm putting in my mouth. Ohh and today I didn't get nauseous either YAY!

Nervous

I'm extremely nervous because tomorrow I'm going to have my first prenatal visit :> I can't wait to see if the baby has grown! I have to go fasting tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. I'm going to have my pelvic exam and my prenatal profile work up, I hope everything comes out normal.

I need to stress how much I have been nauseous its terrible! I can't eat anything without getting sick so I have been eating plenty of fruit :) Also, I've noticed that I never want to wake up in the morning *lol* I have at LEAST five alarms on my phone so I can wake up.

First Ultrasound

Today was my very first ultrasound and boy was I nervous! It turns out I'm not as far along as I thought. Actually, I only have a gestational sac with no baby showing yet. My doctor said I could be between 4-5 weeks, we will try another ultrasound in 2 weeks. I did a little research on the internet and it said that between 4-5 weeks they are too small to be visualized by sonography. Hopefully we will be able to see something very soon..it will be so amazing!

So now we play the waiting game again for the next two weeks :)

I'm Pregnant!

I just found out exactly 1 week ago that I'm going to be a mommy for the first time! I'm currently 6 weeks and 5 days according to my LMP. It's so weird how in a matter of 3 minutes your whole life can be flipped upside down. I mean it didn't cross my mind for two seconds that I would be carrying a little baby in my tummy. I had been having cramps for the past 2 weeks and I hadn't started my cycle so my boss told me to take a pregnancy test (I work for an OB/GYN) so I went and collected a sample of urine and took it to her. As soon as I got out I went to look at the test and it was negative and so I laughed and said "I knew I wasn't" well of course it takes 3 minutes for the test to give the result so when I went back to dump my urine I saw that the test was positive! I started crying and asking if they were playing a joke on me..and sure enough it wasn't a joke. So then I called my sisters and my mother and told them the news, everyone seemed to be happy about it. BUT I knew I had to break it to Isidro in a very nice way since it's our first child (and it wasn't planned). I went to the store and bought him a rattle and put my pregnancy test in the bag along with my proof of pregnancy paper. Of course he didn't take it easy (who would?). We didn't seem so convinced about it so I went and bought 2 more tests to make sure that it was real..and yeah it's real.

So now that we are up to date on the news I must say everything is going great and we have finally accepted it :) I'm so happy and I can't wait for my first OB visit hopefully by then I will be 8 weeks and we can hear our baby's heartbeat♥
