Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to the best dad! Isidro is far beyond one of the greatest dads I have ever known. He never complains, is always willing to help..and he just simply enjoys Mannix. He has surprised me with how patient he can be, and always knows how to put me back in check when I start to panic. He has been the rock of this family since the beginning. It's amazing how in a split second everything changes and you are suddenly a different person. I'm so grateful that he is such an amazing partner and father♥

Mannix has been a little bit more vocal this past week. He has started saying "Uh Guh" more and more and now starting making his high pitched noises when he is happy :] He responds to us when we talk or make noises to him. He also has a "friend" that is on his bouncer, it's a purple hippo. Mannix will stare at it and start making little noises. It seems like he can just look at it forever!

Good Morning!

Whoo Mannix is 6 weeks and 2 days old! We woke up to a very happy baby this morning. He was just sitting and staring at Isidro and I it was adorable. There aren't that many new things that happened this week other than the fact that we FINALLY got ourselves the Black Scion xb that we have been wanting! We had to trade in our Scion tc..it was a two door and very difficult for me to get Mannix in and out. I would literally have to stand in the car just to get him out! lol

So we went to San Antonio to get the car yesterday and it was the first time that I was going to be away from Mannix for more than two hours. I was very nervous and I did cry after we dropped him off at my mothers apartment. I made sure that he was well packed..I think I packed too much! haha I had to pump plenty of milk to make sure that he wouldn't have to drink formula (yuk!) I practically packed 1,000 diapers and 5 jillion bottles not to mention outfits, blankets, and pillows. Here is the sad part: Mannix laughed out loud for the first time! and we missed it :( My mother was playing with him and he laughed. Isidro and I were so heartbroken that we didn't get to hear him. So we have been trying to make him laugh and he wont budge. I guess the time will come again and we will enjoy it and probably cry together hah. Our little man is getting older and bigger.

Charlie Brown

Whoa 5 weeks already! I can't believe how fast time is going by. I really know now what it means when people say "enjoy it before its over" I don't want my little monkey to grow up!

We went to his one month follow up on June 1st and he is now weighing 9 lbs 15 ounces and is now 22 inches long. I'm pretty sure he is 10 lbs by now. He is such a big/small boy. He weighs that much but it seems like most of his clothes are still so big on him. I was so proud of him because he got his one month shot and he didn't even cry! Well, I mean he threw out a little scream because he was sleeping..but that was it. We also figured out a solution to his sleeping problems..he loves the sound of water so we have a video of a waterfall on repeat all night. It works very well. Oh and he is starting to love bath time! (I'm guessing its because of the sound of water) he just sits there and looks around and smiles :)

I bet your also wondering why I titled this blog Charlie Brown. Mannix has been starting to randomly cry and get "sad" and it upsets Isidro and I when we see his tears. So of course I pick Mannix up to comfort him and he immediately stops crying. But he has this little look on his face like he's saying "nobody loves me" so I gave him the nickname of Charlie Brown. I will try to get a picture of the Charlie Brown face and post it soon.

4 Weeks!

Today is the 4 week mark! I can't believe how fast time has flown by. Mannix is getting so big and changing more and more everyday. 

He is finally getting down a little sleep pattern..being fussy from about 12 am till 2 am and sleeping till about 6 or 7. It was a little rough for a while because he would only fall asleep on my chest or in the swing. I didn't like that because I felt like he wasn't stable in the swing..and as for him sleeping on my chest I was scared that I would roll and he would slip off of me. Thank God nothing like that happened though! 

He is starting to make little noises, smiling, and following us around with his eyes. He also has started sucking his thumb (well only 3 times in the past week). 

As for breastfeeding..I'm so proud that I have also made it to the 4 week mark. It is a real accomplishment, especially since I was having some problems with Mannix latching on for a while. And yes, it still kind of hurts (only at the beginning) but I always remind myself of the wonderful benefits that come along with breastfeeding.

I just love when he looks at me like this! He just stares and stares and I think of how this little baby depends so much on Isidro and I. We are in absolute love with Mannix and every little thing he does. I can't wait to see what the future holds for our family.

Mannix Logan Garza

He was born May 1, 2009 at 4:45 pm. He weighed 7 lbs even and is 20.5 inches long! He is the most adorable person on this planet! We are so in love with our baby boy :D

 

I was induced on Wednesday April 29, 2009 because my AFI was low. I was put on Petossin at 12:00 midnight and didnt dilate much for the first 24 hours. They broke my bag of water on Friday, May 1st at 7:00 a.m. and I immediatly started dilating and contracting (very hard) I must say that I applaud any woman that delivers without Epidural! I really tried my best but I couldn't stand the pain. Well, by 3:00 pm I was dilated to a 10 and I started pushing at around 4:15. I was determined to get Mannix out fast so I could meet him and the nurse said "this usually takes anywhere from an hour to two hours" so I was prepared for the long haul. After just a few minutes of pushing I was ready to deliver! They called the Doctor and he came to the hospital and boom! Mannix was here at 4:45 pm :) Let me tell you, Isidro is the best labor partner EVER! He was a trooper throughout the whole thing!

Motherhood is a really wonderful feeling. You can only read and expect so much but when the time comes that he is finally here you sort of forget everything. Isidro has been by my side the whole time and I really appreciate what a wonderful father he is!

And Baby Makes Three..

Today Isidro and I had our Maternity Photoshoot and it was amazing! We are so lucky to have Renee as a friend! She did an amazing job and had so many great ideas to make our session "non traditional" Today is the Nine Month Mark and I am honestly glad that we waited till I was this far along :)
